FMDM have been present in Australia for over 60 years in various places and involved in many different ministries, including education, healthcare, pastoral care, prison ministry, school and university chaplaincy, counselling and parish ministry. Our presence in Australia has evolved to meet the needs of the day and the reality of our own demographics as a Congregation.
Today
Today, our FMDM spirit lives on in a small group of sisters in Australia. We continue to listen to God’s call to be the presence of Christ to all those we encounter each day and to respond to the needs around us.
Our Legacy
Our legacy also lives on in such ministries and places as St Mary of the Angels’ College and St Francis schools in Nathalia, Victoria and in Mount Alvernia hospital, Bendigo, Victoria which both continue to thrive in the fields of education and healthcare.
